What is ALFAJOR?

It’s a tender sandwich shortbread cookie filled with a layer of luscious dollop of Dulce de Leche.

They are very popular treat in South America, especially Argentina, Peru (my homeland) and Uruguay and each one has their own version and distinct flavors.
